Get a support group. Writing is notoriously solitary work. We brainstorm alone, and write alone. All of our free time is spent on the computer, or alone with our thoughts. People talk to us, and we barely hear. We are too busy having conversations in our head with our characters.
Find some people who know what you are truly like. Get together with other writers. Writer's groups are great. As iron sharpens iron, they will help you sharpen your skills as a writer. If you are not brave enough to share your work with others just yet, then join some local workshops and attend some meetings of writers. Make some friends.
We are not meant to go through this life alone. God created Eve for Adam because he was lonely. Without others around, authors - especially full time authors - can fall prey to depression, alcoholism, or worse. Don't let that happen to you. Surround yourself with your support group.
Find your tribe.
Hang out with your peeps.
Live, learn, and grow, with others just like you......... God help us all!!!
