Do you know about the Artist In Residence Programs at the National Park Systems?
Right now the Headlands Marine Mammal and Nature Conservation Center in San Francisco (right on the bay) is taking applications for the 2016 Artist In Residence Programs. Awarded applicants are given between 2-10 week residencies, fully funded, including meals, to be able to further their art. Here are the specifics:

There is a small fee and an application. Deadline is in June for 2016.
I am filling out my application now. This is a really cool opportunity to be able to get away from everyone and everything and WRITE! (or paint, sketch, dance, photograph, whatever your particular art is) and be close to God and his creatures. I spent two weeks there with my kids at their science camps for the students during the summers. It is an amazing place.
I know the other parks do this program too. It would be worth checking into your favorite park. You might just win!
