The Messengers | Have you ever gotten a message that scared you? One that took you by surprise? Not only in the content, but also by the method of delivery? Imagine the world back in Biblical times. The shepherds are all tending their flocks at night. They are sleeping out of doors-possibly tents, possibly not. They are awake a large amount of the time to prevent the enemy (wolves, bears, etc.) from attacking their defenseless sheep. Then, all the sudden, the sky lights up, and booming voices begin singing. The world has not seen anything like this before in the history of the world. There is a party going on in heaven and it has spilled down onto earth, and the humble shepherds are the first ones to hear about it. What did they think? They were told that a tiny king had been born. This is the king they had been waiting for since the beginning of time. what did they do? How did they handle it? How have you handled your surprise messages? When something new happens to you that has never happened before, what kind of reaction to you have. What kind of reaction would your readers have? If this kind of miracle happened in one of your books, how would someone respond? Would they believe it? It is our job to make the miraculous believable. It is our job to announce the coming of the King to a broken and fallen world. How will you do that? See life differently.
