Stephen King has a new book - Fairy Tales

I have a love/hate relationship with Stephen King. Either I think his work is the most brilliant writing I have ever seen, or I am turned off and tuned out. I love his educational opportunities for young writers, but am turned off by some of his politics. I guess you could say that about just about anybody, though... including me. I am very opinionated. That being said, I am very excited about reading his new book, Fairy Tales.

It's that time of year again. Time to get our Market Guides for the new year. I HIGHLY recommend these if you are submitting any type of new works. They cover everything any writer could imagine: Books, fiction and non-fiction, Magazine articles, Devotionals, Short Stories, Greeting Cards, and everything in between. If you have need for addresses, websites, submission guidelines, editorial staff names, or just new ideas of where to submit, then these books are a must. I buy them every year.

There is one for the Christian market, and one for the secular market. Each has different and helpful information. Get the one that best suits you, or get them both!

Inbound Marketing - highly recommended!

I know I'm a bit behind the rest of the world in most things, but I have just discovered the most amazing marketing book. Not only does it tell you what you should be doing, but it explains - in very easy to understand language - how and why you should be doing it. I can wax on forever about the attributes of this amazing book, but instead, I will just tell you that if you are looking to increase any traffic to your website for any reason, buy it! It is amazing!

Get Ready World! Here He Comes!

In all likelihood, Mary would have been in labor today. If babies were anything back then like they are today, the firstborns tend to take a long time. It is a time of great labor, followed by great celebration.

Having had two children, I can tell you that your focus narrows when the intense pains come. The world can be in complete chaos around you, and the only thing you can focus on is what is happening with your own body and the tiny body of the child inside.

As our labors come to completion with our writing, and the intense labor pains of completion, deadlines, editing, re-writing, and re-re-writing. Proof again and again, pain over and over, will produce a beautiful tiny baby book - something to be celebrated again and again in the coming years.

So in the final stages, as the last pains of birth rack you with extreme intensity over and over again, do not give up hope. Do not throw your project away, or delay unnecessarily. For the joy to come is just around the corner, and it is far more amazing than you could ever imagine.

Giant Salamander goes for a stroll...

I used to catch these as a child in North Dakota and keep them as pets. I can't imagine what this one would eat! There aren't enough crickets in the world to keep this one pacified!
