Most people think of Lent as something that you need to give up. but at church this last weekend, our Pastor pointed out that Lent can also involve beginning a new habit to carry throughout the year. His suggestion was to sacrifice some personal time and devote yourself to reading the Bible daily. Great suggestion! And the Bible is the single most inspirational book that I have ever read. But for writers we need to take this a step further.
After your alone time with God, extend that alone time to include your books. Don't let life encroach on your writing time - whether that be actual writing, or just figuring stuff out before it goes down onto paper. Cherish your time, covet it above all other things in your life.
Continue this 40 day Lenten journey with me as we discover better ways to be better writers, through the teachings of Christ!
See life differently.
