Day 2, Mary answered the call. The angel of the Lord came to her with a message, that she would be favored above all women and would bear a son, the Son of God.
What did she do?
Well, I'll tell you what she didn't do.
She didn't argue or fight.
She didn't ask a bunch of questions.
She didn't say, "Well, ok Lord but just tell me everything up front so I know what to expect."
She didn't ask what she would get out of it.
She said ok.
That's it. Just ok.
So, when a mission is given to you by God, do you say ok? Or do you hummm and haaaa looking for ways to get out of it. Do you try to control the situation by making it how you want it to be, or do you answer the call?
Tough one. It's in our nature to question and control. But the mark of a good writer is not to try and control your story, but to let the story flow, as though from another source. Dare I say, an intelligent source, or a blessed source. It needs to have a life of it's own.
See life differently.
