The journey that Mary and Joseph undertook to get them back to Bethlehem, as ordered by their governor must have been miserable. Nine months pregnant and on the back of a donkey. I shudder at that thought alone. It is about 120 Km from Narareth to Jerusalem and another 10 Km from Jerusalem to Bethlehem. (About 80 miles in all) If Mary had not been feeling very well it could have taken nearly a week to do the journey.
At nine months pregnant, the pressure of the infant's head on your pelvis and bladder is enormous. There would have been many, many stops along the way. She would have had to eat often, and drink a lot. Under the desert sun, she would have been exhausted.
What has your journey as a writer been like? Has it been a miserable journey? Was it fraught with numerous stops and side tracks?
Did you eventually make it? What when you arrived, was the journey worth it?
And the final question that every woman who gives birth is asked, will you do it again? Will there be another labor and delivery? I know people who have one story inside of them and once they get that down, there is no more. I know others with a thousand stories in them. Every person's journey is different. We all journey to a different place and have different callings. It is very personal and very spiritual.
God's peace on your journey.
See life differently.
