Take your writing seriously. For a lot of people writing is a hoppy, to do in their spare time. But for many of us Christians, it is a whole lot more.
In the Great Commission, Christ charged his disciples to take His words to the ends of the earth. we still follow that commission today, in a number of different forms. the chosen form for us authors, is paper and pen (or computer). We have a message. We have a story within the story that not everyone knows. Whether we write outright Christian themed works, or what is known as a Christian World View (more good vs. evil) we feel a drive and determination to get our words heard. Many do not even care if they ever see a dime from their works, so long as someone reads and understands them.
This is our charge. Not just to spread the Gospel when it is convenient, or as a hobby. Not to do it when we feel like it, but to feel an urgency and to get that message out.
But as my writer's group leader, Michelle Janene says, "we take our writing seriously; we don't take ourselves seriously!" Believe me, there's a difference.
