The Great Commission tells us to go, bringing Jesus' name to all people of all nations, sharing, blessing, and baptizing in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy spirit.
That's a big job. No, that's an enormous, daunting, somewhat unimaginably impossible job. For us, maybe, but for God. Not at all. So first of all, have faith. But next start small.
A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step. ~Confucious
Take things one day at a time, one person at a time, and one soul at a time, and one step at a time.
1-1-1 is a new movement brought forward by Pastor Lee Strobel. Pray for one person, at 1:00, for one week, or day, or month, or year, or lifetime... whatever you are led to do. Follow God on this one. Ask Him to help you identify who you are to help, and how. But all things begin with prayer.
This is not a bad concept at all. In fact, I think it is rather brilliant. You can even take it further and pray for two people at 2:00, and three people at 3:00, etc. Paul said to pray without ceasing. This is a good way to follow that advice.
We are all conscious of time, be that the time of day, month, week, year, or lifetime. So this is a really good way to employ that nagging clock we are always watching and turn it into something good.
What time is it now? Time to pray!
