How do you envision God?
Most likely your vision has something to do with your vision of your earthly dad.
If you think that your dad doesn't love you, then you might have the impression that God doesn't love you either. If you have to 'earn' your parent's love, then you would interpret that you must earn God's love as well.
If you dad was a harsh disciplinarian, then you might see God that way too. If that harshness produced feelings of anger, or resentment toward your dad. Those feelings might spill over to your relationship with God too.
This is not what the Bible teaches. Our God is a God of pure love.
We never have to earn our way in, or worry about not loving enough, not working hard enough, or not giving enough. Jesus took away all of that worry when He paid the price for our sins.
So try to envision a great big God with a great big heart, and great big arms, open wide to let you in. He's waiting.
Until next time:
Peace to you and yours,
